As the globe warms, temperatures rise, and the summer heat becomes more punishing. Consequently, staying cool has become top priority and a refreshing beverage always fits the bill. Never mind the seemingly countless health benefits of Stevia, this drink will help you cool off, while cutting the calories and the carbs, with this zero sugar but infinitely delicious stevia lemon and limeade recipe. There is just something about citrus flavors and stevia that make a winning combination. Though this recipe would work just fine with either just lemons or limes, the combination of the two elevates this drink to the caliber of ambrosia.
Stevia lemon and limeade is extremely versatile. With the complexity of both the lemon and lime present, coupled with a small sprinkle of intensely sweet stevia, this drink will please the palate of adults and children alike, function as a healthy respite from the sweltering heat, or simply a sweet treat.
You Will Need:
- A small pitcher
- Limes (2)
- Lemon (2)
- Stevia (2 tsp)
- A Lemon Squeezer (Optional — You can always just use your hands!)
- 4 cups of ice (Optional, but highly recommended)
Directions:
- Quarter the lemons and limes and remove all the seeds. After the seeds are removed, squeeze all of the juice from the wedges into the pitcher.
- Fill the pitcher about halfway with filtered water.
- Add the four cups of ice.
- Add the 2 teaspoons of Stevia. Don’t overdo this step. Rather, too much stevia often results in a revolting planty taste which is completely dissimilar to what a smaller serving would taste like.
- Mix, and you’re done!
- Serve and enjoy, or put away in the refrigerator.
Notes:
- If making larger quantities, be sure to taste to gauge sourness and sweetness.
- Too sour? Add more water, not stevia.
